Rechtenbacher Winner
of Energy Effciency Award 2021

The companies Rechtenbacher and Simaka received the Energy Efficiency Award on 8 November 2021. The German Energy Agency (Deutsche Energieagentur – Dena) conferred this award in the category “From Smart to Digital for SMEs” during its energy transition congress in Berlin. The duo successfully competed against 130 entries and four additional nominated companies.
The standard method of exhaust air purification in the industry is thermal afterburning. However, this has the disadvantage that it consumes a large amount of fossil fuels.
For this reason, a highly efficient exhaust air purification system based on an existing thermal pump technology was developed and installed. Instead of using a thermal afterburning system, Rechtenbacher is thus able to separate solvents from exhaust air with the principle of condensation.
This year, Dena presented the award to companies from the public and private sector for the 15th time. The accolade is bestowed under the auspices of German Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Peter Altmaier.
